What did ‘magic’, ‘science’ and ‘religion’ mean in the Middle Ages? Were the Dark Ages really that void of wisdom and investigation? Dr. Joanne Edge is here to help. Dr. Edge specializes in late-medieval and early modern European social and cultural history, with an emphasis on medicine and the ‘occult’ sciences: divination, magic and astrology. She is currently Latin Manuscripts Cataloger at the John Rylands Library, University of Manchester. This chat was based on an excellent article Dr. Edge wrote for 'Forbidden Histories' (link below!)
